Description: Students at Black Forest Academy (BFA) in Kandern, Germany, have experienced all the unique benefits and challenges of growing up on the mission field. They speak multiple languages, can cross cultures with ease, and love to try new things. But they’ve had to say too many goodbyes, and they often struggle to find their own identity in the mix of cultures they call home.
BFA offers a safe place for these Third Culture Kids (TCKs) — a place where they’re accepted and loved, and where they can explore questions of life and faith before they return to North America for college.
You can serve TCKs and their families as a Resident Assistant (RA) or dorm parent. Help build a culture of Christ-centered community and friendship. Walk alongside students in the highs and lows of classes, weekend activities, and homesickness. Be a mentor for them in this pivotal time of their lives, and model what it means to live and love like Jesus.
