1931
A group of 36 missionaries serving in the Belgian Congo and Brazil formed the Unevangelized Fields Mission (UFM).
1964
Simba rebels in Congo killed 19 UFM missionaries. Since then, some of the rebels and many others have come to Christ, and relatives of the martyrs have returned to serve in Congo, acting on their forgiveness.
1982
UFM made the cover of Time magazine when thousands of Dani people burned their fetishes and turned to Christ in a miraculous movement of God in Papua, Indonesia.
1996
Just a few years after the Bosnian-Serbian War ended, our first missionaries arrived in the Balkans to bring hope to a region in need of healing.
2001
A complete translation of the Bible was printed in the local language of the Wai Wai indigenous tribe of Brazil.
2004
UFM International changed its name to Crossworld.
2006
Crossworld began opening new fields in closed countries, sending our first missionaries to West Asia.
2011
We refreshed our vision to engage all believers in the Great Commission. The vision is summarized in our tagline: “All Professions. One Mission.”
2021
While many churches were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, a Crossworld church in Ecuador grew so fast they had to meet outdoors for two years until a new building could be built.
