Where Is Our Resolve?
Could it be...
…we’re too busy trying to figure out the how of ministry that we’ve forgotten the why?
…we’ve deemed the cost of missions too great and it’s paralyzed us from completing the task?
…we’ve forgotten His Word:
- “Though He slay me, I will hope in Him” (Job 13:15).
- “If I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16).
- “Our God is able to deliver us … but even if He does not…” (Daniel 3:17-18).
- “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him” (Psalm 34:7).
- “Do not fear those who kill the body” (Matthew 10:28).
- “Blessed are you when people … persecute you” (Matthew 5:11).
- “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).
- “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me (Luke 9:23).
What if...
…we decided that this earthly life with all its pleasures can’t hold a candle to the joys of eternity?
…we lived as though we’ve already died to this life?
…we no longer lived with this world in view, but rather the world to come?
…we truly believed that the souls of men are worth the martyr’s blood?
Would we...
…live as though we have nothing to lose?
…refuse to let this world’s comforts distract us from His mission?
…see discouragement, team conflict, and foreign red tape as hurdles to overcome instead of excuses to quit?
…approach Jesus’ mandate with resolve to go, no matter what it costs?
…walk down the jetway in confidence, without anticipating a return flight?
…refuse to let the fear of suffering lessen our resolve to advance against all odds?
