There’s a side to Paris you won’t see in the movies.
Watch the video to take a walk with Crossworld worker Bryan through his neighborhood, and get a front-row seat to the spiritual landscape in the City of Lights.
“The Christian faith is so polarizing that it can literally end friendships, ” Bryan writes. “Our pastor describes it as a ‘Christian coming-out’ of sorts. If your neighbor or coworker suddenly comes to know you are a Christian — and not just any Christian but an evangelical Christian, which is perceived as a cult — the reactions can be strong and swift. Anger. Disbelief. Avoidance.
“Combine that with a culture that is already slow to make friends, and you have a delicate situation. Much successful ministry is built through trusted relationships over time instead of trying to cross relational bridges that haven’t yet been fully built.
“I have grown to realize the need to pray Colossians 4 every day if we are going to reach the people here who, for the most part, are not interested in God or His church. Will you pray with us?”
- That God will open a door for us to speak the Word of God.
- That we will have the faith and conviction to speak when given that open door.
- That when we speak God’s Word, we will speak in the right spirit with wisdom.
