Overview

Crossworld, a non-profit mission agency based in Kansas City, Mo., is seeking a Vice President of Advancement to provide spiritual and strategic leadership, and to direct a plan that resources Crossworld to accomplish its vision.

Purpose
Crossworld’s dream is to send and support disciple-makers from all professions who will bring God’s love to life in the world’s least-reached marketplaces. Every department and employee is aligned with this purpose. The ideal VP of Advancement will be enthused about Crossworld’s dream and be able to articulate it with clarity and enthusiasm. 

Responsibilities
This role reports to the president of Crossworld and oversees the Advancement departments of Development, Marketing/Communications, Mobilization, and Church Connections, which include 4-5 directors and 12-15 staff. He or she will work with the department directors to develop, implement, and measure annual and long-term goals for resourcing the organization. Critical to the organization’s success is strategic fundraising that provides designated and unrestricted resources for the ministry’s initiatives and ongoing needs. Strategies include major donor cultivation, planned giving, grants, endowment campaigns, direct mail, online campaigns, and special events. This role is responsible to assure strategic alignment across the Advancement department. He or she will serve as a member of the executive team and engage with the board of directors as needed.

Skills

  • Godly character and spiritual leadership experience
  • Executive leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of integration of advancement activities
  • Strong understanding of brand messaging and implementation across multiple departments
  • Solid understanding of financial services, budgeting process, financial reporting, etc.
  • Solid understanding and use of technology, including social media
  • Ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of creative professionals
  • Strong marketing sensibilities preferred
  • Experience and proven success in resource development
