Haiti and Hurricane Matthew
Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti on Tuesday, Oct. 4. All of the Crossworld workers in Haiti are safe, and they are assessing the damage on the ground to see what the Haitian people need and how they can best help.
Our team in Haiti reports that hundreds were evacuated from their homes and are living in temporary shelters. The rain flooded or washed out many roads, making travel and communication difficult. Markets will be closed for a few days, which could cause trouble for Haitians who typically buy their food on a daily basis. Even beyond this week, hunger could continue to be an issue as the hurricane damaged crops and gardens.
