What’s a Bible?
FRANCE — “You’ve never read the Bible?” asked Lauren, a student leader in a French campus ministry.
“Well no,” Zach paused. “I’ve never seen one.”
That’s where Zach started three years ago. Almost no knowledge of Jesus … until he met one of Jesus’ followers.
The more Lauren shared about Jesus, the more Zach’s curiosity grew. So Lauren decided to introduce Zach to Crossworld worker Adrien.
“I have this friend in class named Zach,” Lauren said to Adrien. “He had never met a Christian before or even seen the Bible, so I invited him to our next meeting.”
Zach seemed shy and self-conscious at first, but as he and Adrien built a friendship, his questions poured out. Adrien listened and prayed, always pointing Zach to Christ. One day Zach did put his trust in Jesus. And soon, his shyness — along with his sinful habits — started to disappear.
After about two years of discipling Zach, Adrien challenged him to become a student leader in the same campus ministry. He could keep growing in his faith while bringing others along in the journey.
So he did. Zach started bringing friends from school, teaching them about Jesus the same way Lauren and Adrien had done for him. Before long, one of his classmates — who had watched Zach’s transformation — trusted in Jesus as well.
Three years ago, Zach knew nothing of Jesus. Now he is learning to follow Jesus and helping others do the same. God uses normal people like Zach, Lauren, and Adrien to build His kingdom. How is he using you?

- Zach and Lauren’s friendship developed into something more and they recently got engaged. Pray for them as they begin their life together in marriage with God’s glory at the center. Their family members don’t know Jesus and Zach’s family is opposed to the institution of marriage.
- Pray for Zach as he grows in faith and receives more responsibilities at church. Ask God to protect him from discouragement.
