Scribbled on a Hill
IRELAND — From across the room, one of the boy’s scribbles on the chalkboard caught Crossworld worker Sean’s eye. He noticed that the boy, his son’s friend, was putting finishing touches on three crosses. Curious, Sean walked over to join the two young artists.
“Why did you draw these three crosses, Aedan?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” Aedan answered while gazing at what he had drawn. “I guess I saw it in a picture somewhere.” He looked up at Sean as if he might have the answer.
Sean smiled, leaned down to the boys’ eye level, and started to tell a story. His son, Dillon, lit up as he began to recognize the story.
“Did you know that Jesus can forgive anyone’s sin?” Dillon eagerly told his friend. Together they shared with Aedan how a man on one of those crosses — a thief — was forgiven by Jesus.
