From “Talking Shop” to Sharing Christ
ASIA — Zipping across the city by motorcycle, Robert headed toward a vendor’s office to discuss an invoice. The vendor operated from a small space that, when Robert entered, included five other men. After brief greetings and small talk, Robert and the vendor began discussing the invoice. Suddenly, the vendor quieted. He peered at Robert, hesitated, and then spoke: “Robert, do you have a divine connection?”
“Why do you ask?”
“Robert, I am sensing a positive energy emanating from you, and I don’t know what it is.”
“As a matter of fact, I do have a divine connection to Yeshu [Jesus].”
Robert then shared about who Jesus is, His way of life, and how He is revealed in the Bible. Robert described why he is at peace because of Christ. The vendor just looked at Robert, listening. The other men in the office listened too. But Robert believed God was doing something inside that vendor’s — that friend’s — mind and heart, so he said one final thing.
“I believe that friends should share with each other what they value most. Would you like to study Jesus’ teachings with me?”
The vendor-friend replied, “Let’s see.”
