BALKANS — At just 12 years old, Jarek has given up on himself. He has an undiagnosed learning disability, is battling deep depression, and has no support system to lean on.
Jarek lives in a place where the school system has no concept of special education. Instead of receiving help, he receives insults from those who think he’s incapable of learning. There’s no one to step in during his weakest moments. What kind of future will he have?
But these are only surface-level problems. The deeper issue is that Jarek lives in a country where few people ever encounter the hope of Jesus. He could go his whole life without knowing the grace, love, and purpose that Jesus brings.
